FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions
Q - What search engines are you on? A - We are now getting more and more established on the top search engines - We are listed on InfoSpider, Altavista, Ask Jeeves, Google, Yahoo, AOL Search, All the Web, Lycos, Hotbot, plus many other smaller engines Q - What methods are you using to market the site? A - As we have 4 different web addresses - we get to submit each site address to search engines seperately. This means we have a far better chance of attracting visitors than other similar sites.
Q - How quickly can you add my page to this site? A - We add batches of new pages every week. You could expect to be included in WheretoStay within 3 days at the very most.
Q - Can I email my text description to you? A - Yes, but please do not send it as an attachment. Simply copy and paste the text into a regular email. Likewise with the Order Form if you wish to email that. Text descriptions which are sent to us in an email save us time re-typing are much appreciated.
Q - Can I email my photos to you? A - Yes, preferably as jpegs. Please also send an accompanying email without attachments, explaining what attachments we should expect. If you find that your photos have a very large file size, we'd recommend sending these on a disk.
Q - Can I add other photos later? A - Yes, you can add additional photos to your page at any time. One photograph is included as standard in the price of a mini page entry (4 photographs with the enhanced entry) when you join, and additional photos can be added at any time for a handling charge of £8 per photo.
Q - Can I change my photos later? A - Yes, you can change the photos on your page at any time at no extra charge.
Q - Can I make a text adjustment to my page? A - Yes, you can request a change to the text on your web page at any time. We will do your text changes free of charge.
Q - How quickly can you make an adjustment to my page? A - We schedule updating sessions every 2-3 days.
Q - Can I pay with my credit card? A - Yes - You can pay online using our secure transaction via PayPal.
Q - Can you do anything with poor quality photos? A - When scanning your photos we do make some adjustment if necessary - including general lightness, contrast, colour saturation and hue, and where needed we'll remove scratches or blemishes, and crop the image as per your instructions.
Q - Do you return photographs? A - Yes, they are sent back together with the receipt and printout.
Q - Can you produce my text description from my brochure? A - Yes, Send your brochure with your other items, but please mark on it clearly which parts of the text you would like included.
Q - Can I advertise more than one property on my page? A - We have no objection to those wishing to advertise groups of different types of accommodation on just one page. But remember that the total of 200 words may be sufficient for giving an outline description of everything. If you are advertising a range of different types of accommodation - for example Bed & Breakfast and a Self Catering property when searching for specific properties eg B&B your page would come up well in searches for B&B but not when searching for Self Catering. You may prefer to take multiple pages to ensure each accommodation is promoted.
Q - Why didn't you update my page as requested? A - If you are still seeing an old version of the page which is stored in your computer memory then to ensure you are getting the fresh version of the page from the internet, 1. Log onto the internet. 2. Go to your page. 3. Click the 'reload' or 'refresh' button at the top of your browser. This will ensure that your computer fetches the new version of your page from the server (instead of giving you the old one that has been retained in your computer's memory).
